Bobbie King

I’m Bobbie and I'm from Bournemouth. I am 22-years old and a third-year medical student studying at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.

I really enjoy being an active member of different projects and organisations and often find myself a little overwhelmed with multiple to-do lists! The Bahati Health Project, however, is the most valuable and important thing with which I have ever been involved. I have cut back on other activities to give it more energy. The planning and the fund raising last year were exciting.  However, to actually see the results was incredible. I felt honoured to be in a position to be able to help the people of Bahati in such a fundamental way.

In addition to setting up the much needed clinic for the workers last year, there is so much more that can be done. Both The Funzo Project and The Katoto Crèche Initiative will combat common and major struggles that these people face. Since the planning stages of these projects I have become so excited and enthusiastic about everything it would mean for the community of Bahati, and the opportunity that we have in making a real and lasting difference.
